Music to Shoot by

Within the universal set, archery intersects with so many things. Archery and dedication. Archery and health. Archery and banter. Archery and obsessive compulsion .. the intersections are endless. But one intersection you never see is archery and music. There are many many songs with a tenuous connection with archery like Poison Arrow - ABC .. Gold - Spandau Ballet .. Why does it always rain on me - Travis. However, there just aren't any songs about archery where our sport is the subject matter. Or rather there weren't any .. till now! ;o)

Towards the end of last year, Glasgow Archers commissioned noted internet composer Patchwork Raid to create a five track album all about archery. Inspiration was taken from Glasgow Archers itself but the songs will resonate with any archer suffering on the line. Focusing, as they do, on the archery experience. Its definitely worth listening carefully to the lyrics - they might touch something in your shootie psyche.
So without further faffing about, Lets get our archery rock on ... 🤘

Between Nock and Gold by Patchwork Raid.

Track 1. Sunday Archer .. A song for those archers who are thinking about archery even when chained to their desks at work. You know where you want to be!

Track 2. The Archers Pause .. For every single one of you who have got stuck on the clicker. This is less of a song and more of a coaching manual on clickers set to a catchy toon!

Track 3. Lost at Fifty .. There's an arrow in the grass .. the archer said it was high and left. Riiiiiiiight!

Track 4. String Theory .. Archery is one big happy family .. although like in any family, there are some tensions.

Track 5. Last Arrow .. One arrow left in the competition. Time to dig deep.

So that's our album. If you haven't guessed, the songs are AI generated but a lot of effort was expended by Patchwork Raid getting the tone and content right. If The Archer's Pause lyric "Through shaking limb and burning core, I'll hold till steel sings out once more" doesn't encapsulate your determination to get through that clicker, odds are you aren't a recurver.

Hopefully you liked them and will come back to enjoy them time and again. Our editor certainly does. Perhaps listen right before a competition. Might get those brain cells focused, that steely determination locked in. And next time you get stuck on the clicker, you might hear the faint sounds of a sea shanty playing somewhere in the distance!
