The Archery Doctor is IN
Xmas has come and gone. You've always been difficult to buy for and this year Auntie Ella gave up the ghost and gave you money in an envelope. In fact, several relatives all did the same. That's a nice stash of cash ... and as a budding archer, you start to wonder "is this the time to buy my own bow?" Well, in the words of Hong Kong Phooey ... Could be!
However, navigating the purchase of archery kit without a guide is fraught with dangers. Having someone to advise you on whats good value is extremely helpful in getting the most for your money and the biggest bang for your buck. Here at Glasgow Archers we have you covered because we have ...
The GA Archery Doctor™
This club member has a disturbingly encyclopedic knowledge of archery kit (compounds excluded) and how it goes together. He knows whats good and what isn't ... coughhoytcough. If you are thinking about purchasing a bow, he is the person to talk to once you have your budget worked out and have window shopped a little for inspiration.
Check out this guide to the bow buying process. Then these suggestions for recurve, barebow, traditional and even compound equipment... whatever the style that has your eye. There's even a guide to personal kit for traditional. Once you've done that, book an appointment at the GA Bow Surgery (held Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays) and our dedicated "professional" will diagnose the best kit for you.
So if purchasing a bow is one of your new year resolutions .. have a chat with Archery Doctor. He might well have the prescription for your archery itch.

GA members should know who the Archery Doctor's alter ego is. Think most likely suspect.
Disclaimer: The GA Archery Doctor is in no way a medical professional nor is he that professional. He is a bitchy, whiny archer who spends far too much time browsing and maintaining archery kit. Suggested kit will not make you shoot like a Korean .. that's on you .. but it should help. Remember that your scores can go down as well as up and an archer's past performance does not necessarily predict future results.

So true and the Glasgow wit reminds me of when I met my number 1 super woman, ( now my wife of nearly 27 years). It was at the Burrell Collection cafe. I was working as a waiter and attempted to clear away her tea, "I've not finished with that" she rudly clamed taking it off me and slimming it down. We were married in Govern Hill and Glasgow was truly my home and wish I could get to see the archery doctor to help me tune my existing bow.
